The Victoria State Champs PSC team
Are you the next big thing? You could be. All athletes of PSC between the ages of 7-9 years (its ok if you are slightly older or slightly younger) have been invited to be apart of a television commercial being shot at Epsom Girls Grammar School pool on Friday 3rd February from 9a-2pm. For every athlete that attends with their parents, PSC will receive a donation of up to a maximum of $2000 - but only if we are able to get 20 athletes and 10 parents there on the day. If it's less than that, it will be less dosh. But hey, every bit counts right?
This will be a super cool experience. Snacks and lunch provided. Take your togs, goggles, cap and towel as the scene being shot is a swim racing one. Also take some summer clothing for the crowd scenes. That goes for parents too (but not the togs). Preferably no obvious logos on the togs or the clothes please.
If you want to be involved and you wish to have your name in lights one day - please email Sarahnorrie@mac.com in the first instance.
An ENORMOUS thank you to all those that attended our stylish fundraiser on Friday night.
It was a huge night of laughing, frivolity and fun with our parent community and coaching team frocked up to the nines enhanced only by our exceptional waiters well attending to every need thanks to Annabelle, Madison, Jasmine, Ruby, Jamie and Samuel.
We have no doubt that the night would not have been the success it was had it not been for the generosity of Frank and Juliet Reynolds opening their home. Our MC, Hamish McKay did exceptionally well (the flowing champagne no doubt helped) in his management of the auction resulting in excess of $20,000 raised for our club!
Thank you to our amazing hard working fundraising team for their tireless approach to organising such a wonderful event and to all the families and local supporters for donating such stunning auction items.
Events such as this with all the laughter that echoed the eastern bays on Friday night remind us of what an amazing PSC community we are part of and have us looking forward eagerly to the next event our uber awesome fundraising team come up with.
Fiona Wilson, Danni and Jordy’s Mum, is working at Ambury.
Ambury is an Equine Therapy based facility in Mangere with students who come from a variety of underprivileged backgrounds and are dealing with physical, emotional and/or intellectual disabilities.
Once a week, they attend a swim session at the Otahuhu pool. Unfortunately, the pool is not equipped with gear that the teachers can utilise for the kids in their lessons.
IF YOU have any spare goggles, kick boards, flippers, caps, etc and are willing to donate them, the children of Ambury would be very grateful.
Donated equipment can be left with either Danni or Jordy at any stage and Fiona will ensure it gets to the kids that need it.
Thanks in advance.
The PSC Cocktail Party on Friday 17th June is fast approaching and we need to know whether you are coming by Wednesday 1st June 2016.
Whilst our invitation might not have been the flashiest, this event most certainly will be. Our fundraising team have been working hard to organise a wonderful social night for our parent community.
The Reynolds family have opened up their stunning home for us, the canapés will be delicious, the wine will be flowing and there will be some stunning auction items to tempt you.
RSVP TODAY to firstname.lastname@example.org
Tickets are just $50 per person, but we can promise, it will be a fabulous night to remember with profits going to the club. We have a long list of things that the club needs, so every penny raised will benefit our swimmers.
We very much look forward to seeing you on Friday 17th June.
Please note that the term 1 holidays (18th April – 1st May) reflect the end of the 2015 – 2016 swimming year. Throughout this period PSC annually takes a two week break for athletes to spend time with families, physically recover and mentally prepare for the next swimming year. Throughout this period there will be no training, across all squads and ages.
Training resumes on Monday 2nd May.
During this break there is a group of the age group swimmers travelling to Wellington to compete in the National Championships. We wish them the very best of luck.
